Willington Mooring
This mooring at the Grange Estate, Willington, Bedfordshire was agreed during the 2024 boating season so 2025 is our first full season with this mooring.
Hartford Regatta Field Mooring
This mooring, just upstream from Hartford Marina and on the same side of the river, is new for the 2025 boating season. Two things to note: no mooring is permitted during the first week of July each year due to the Hartford regatta taking place there; and please don’t feed the horses that are often in the field. And watch out they may be a bit over-friendly!
Paxton Pits Mooring
Following many years of rent increases from the landowner and a requirement for annual price escalation at 8-10% per annum (i.e. 3 to 4 x inflation), the cost of this 44’ mooring had become uneconomic, especially when compared to the cost of our other moorings. So the Committee reluctantly decided to terminate this mooring at the start of the 2025 season and explore a new potential mooring on the other side of the river at Great Paxton (see below).
Great Paxton Mooring
We have identified a potential site and a willing landowner on the Great Paxton side of the river. This will be surveyed in mid-May to determine how much of the bank is usable for mooring and what work needs to be done to prune back shrubs etc. Subject to that, and to any EA permit requirements, we hope to have this mooring in operation during the current boating season.
